2022

  • The Annual Prize Distribution Function of Department of Physical Education and Sports was conducted on 14thMarch, 2019 at11.00 a.m. in Niyogi Hall Shankar Nagar College Campus, Nagpur. All the Special Achievers, and Coaches were felicitated for their outstanding performance and participants of various games, were honored at the hands of the Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Barse, Founder of Slum Soccer, Nagpur and by Dr. DeepaliKotwal Principal of the college.
  • Along with the students Mr.RajanPillay (Karate Coach), Mr. PramodSelokar (Kabaddi Coach) Mr.ArvindGarud (Basketball Coach) were also felicitated for their services towards the institution.
  • 1st April to 30thApril 2019     
    Summer Cricket Coaching Camp was conducted for college students. In the camp the students were given few lectures on Importance of Nutrition, Positive Attitude, importance of Yoga and Fitness along with Cricket Coaching from 1st April to 30th April 2019. In all 20 students were there in the camp and the camp was conducted in the morning hours 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
  • College has started the renovation of SARASWATI Basket Ball court in the month of June 2019.
  • Department of Physical Education and Sports started Table Tennis Coaching Camp at Shankar Nagar Campus Gymnasium Hall from 7thAugust 2019 for the session 2019-2020 more than 20 students are regularly attending the Camp.
  • Independence Day programme was conducted by Department of Physical Education and Sports on 15  August 2018.
  • On 29th August 2019 Department of Physical Education and Sportshas celebrated National Sports Day (KridaDiwas) by conducting inter Class Table Tennis matches for the students at the Shankar Nagar College campus Ms. SangharshaJiwane of B.A.-I secured 1st place, Ms. YashreeBawne  of B.Sc. III  Secured 2nd Place, and Ms. Natasha Nitnaware of B.Sc. III secured 3rd Place in the inter class Tournament.
  • On 8th September 2018, Six students participated in the Intercollegiate Cross Country Race 2019 of 10 kms organized by RTMNU, Nagpur.
  • On 3rd October in collaboration with NSS Unit I, distributed study, sports and activities material to the PipaldharaZilaParishad School, also did Tree Plantation in the School premises.
  • On 3rd October Ms. Rashmi Manohare of Commerce Faculty participated in the Inter Collegiate Wrestling Championship and Won Gold Medal as well as selected to represent RTMNU, Nagpur in the Inter University Wrestling Championship.
  • On 4thOctober 3rd Placed team was felicitated and also Our Inter National Player Ms. Vaishnavi Bhalewas felicitated with the Cheque of Rs.15000/- for representing Indian University in the Word University Badminton Championship.
  • On 4th October sports Department in Collaboration with NSS Unit-I organized Blood Donation Camp staff and students donated blood.
  • On 5th October sports department, under DaanUtsav donated Nutritive Breakfast to players of our College.
  • On 5th  October to 7th October 2019 College Volleyball team participated in the Inter collegiate Volleyball Tournament organized by RTMNU, Nagpur.
  • On 10th  October to 12th  October College Kho Kho team participated in the Inter collegiate Kho Kho  Tournament held at MahilaMahavidyalaya organized by RTMNU, Nagpur.

  • On 21st December Sports Department formed “Catalyst Fitness Club” under the Fit India Campaign.
  • On 22nd December Sports Department’ “Catalyst Fitness Club” conducted Fitness session for the visiting players team.
  • On 23rd December and 24th December The Sports Department of college organized Girls Cricket Tournament under the banner of “Catalyst” Fitness Club at Abhyankar Nagar Cricket Ground. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. AvinashDeshmukh, Vice President, W.E.S  andShri Sameer Sahasrabuddhe and Shri Goverdhan from Hyderabad were prominently present. Four teams participated. The visiting Hyderabad Amanvedika Rainbow House Team, Siddeshwar School Team, Sapphire Club Team and L.A.D. College Team. The Sappihire Club Team won the Tournament organized by Department.
  • On 25th December to 26th December College Karate team participated in the Intercollegiate Karate Competition organized by RTMNU, Nagpur.

Participated and reached Quarter Finals in the Syed Modi International Badminton Tournament 2019 held at Bhopal in the month of November to December.
  • Mugdha Agrey Participated and reached Quarter Finals in the Syed Modi International Badminton Tournament 2019 held at Lucknow in the month of November. She also participated and reached Quarter Finals in the Tata Open International Badminton Tournament held at Mumbai in the month of November. Earlier she had also participated and reached Quarter Finals in the Nepal Open International Badminton Tournament held at Kathmandu in the month of November. In the month of December she had participated and reached Quarter Finals in the Bangladesh Open International Badminton Tournament held at Dhaka. MugdhaAgrey – a college Student was nominated as Best Sportswomen in Badminton by Sports Journalists Association of Nagpur (SJAN) on 29th December 2019.

Prominently present were Vice President W.E.S Dr. AvinashDeshmukh and Principal Dr. DeepaliKotwal, who inaugurated the tournament. Dr. SrideviL.A.D. College Team took an initiative and it was organized by the Department with the help of the sponsorship given by few of our staff. Four teams participated.The visiting Hyderabad Amanvedika Rainbow House Team, Siddeshwar School Team, SapphireClub Team and L.A.D.College Team. The Sappihire Club Team won the Tournament.   • 29th December2019: Principal Dr. DeepaliKotwal was invited to receive “Best performer in sports among City Colleges” Award by SportsJournalism Association of Nagpur (SJAN) on 29th of December 2019 at the hands of TejaswiniSawant the pride of India in Shooting. 

2020

  • 28thDecember 2019 to 8th January 2020 : Ms.Nilima Maravi,Ms. Gargi Raut, Ms. Monika Gohate and Ms. Schita Gurnule  represented  RTMNU,Nagpur Cricket Team in the Inter University Cricket tournament held at Bhopal from 30th December 2019 to 8th January 2020.
  • Medical Examination Test and Physical Efficiency Test forB.Sc Students and B.A. Students were conducted.
  • 14th January 2020: Department Conducted Free Dental Checkup Camp for Students and Staff of College incollaboration with Kolankar Dental Clinic.        
  • 18th and 19th January 2020 : In the 12thSoke Kanazawa Cup 2020 International Shotokan karate Association Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 18th and 19thof January 2020 organised by Nepal Shotokan Karate Association(SKIF), Nepal Olympic Committee, National Sport Council, Nepal Karate Federation took place at National Sport Council Karate Academy Hall Lalitpur, Nepal. In the tournament, the participants from L.A.D. College fetched 3 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. The Names of the winners are follows under the following categories:

  • Our Students astounded everyone through their Commendable performance and their by secured 2ndposition in the International Karate Championship 2020.The events took place under the leadership of coach  RajanPillay and the team manager RajkumarGajghate.
  • 26th January 2020:Departmentfelicitatedthe International Karate players on the Republic Day Programmeat the hands ofPrincipal, Dr. DeepaliKotwal.
  • 1st February 2020 : Department Organized Village Sports Inter Collegiate Competitions for students and Staff under the Aura Mega Inter Collegiate Event in which games like Lagdi race, Three Legged Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Dodgeball, Dog And the Bone, Musical Chair,etc. were conducted In the event  about 100 students and 35- 40  staff participated.

  • CATC – 607 NCC Camp from 19 th July 2018 to 28 th July 2018 was held at SomnathMul, Dist. Chandrapur.
  • College Karate Players presented a Karate Demonstration of Karate at Shrinivas Public School Seminary Hills, Nagpur on 29 th August 2018.
  • Five students participated in the Intercollegiate Cross Country Race 2018 of 10 kms organized by RashtrasantTukadojiMaharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur on 2 nd September2018.
  • Ms. NayanPramodThakre, a student of B.Com. Part II English Medium is participatingin an International Tournament “IX International Mexicano 2018” to be held at Mexico (North America) from 20-9-2018 to 23-09-2018.
  • ATC NCC Camp for 7 cadets was held on 13 th – 22 nd Sept 2018 at MLA Hostel Nagpur.
  • Cricket Summer Club for girls is in anvil and the newly created Pitches were inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Panna Akhani- Director /Secretary of WES at Shankar Nagar college campus on 2nd April, 2018 from 9 to 14 April 2019.
  • LatikaInamdarwas selected as Captain of Vidarbha U-19 Girls State team to participate in the Inter State One Day BCCI Cricket Tournament held at Goa from 9 to 24 February 2019.   
  • LatikaInamdar and NupurKohale was selected to represent Vidarbha Senior women’s State team to   participate in the Inter State One Day BCCI Cricket Tournament  from 3 to 20 December 2018. They were elected to represent Vidarbha U-23 women’s  State team to participate in the Inter State T20 BCCI Cricket Tournament  from 16 to 3 February 2019.  They represented Vidarbha Senior women’s State team to participate in the Inter State T20 BCCI Cricket Tournament from 21 to 3 March 2019.  They both also represented Vidarbha U-23 Women’s  State team to participate in the Inter State One Day BCCI Cricket Tournament  from 19 to 5 April 2018.
  • Nagalaxmi Ayer won Best Female Participant Rs. 12000/- Cash Prize in Delhi
    International Open Chess Tournament in the month of February 2019.
  • SheetalWarkhade won Gold Medal (Kumite) in the 11th Kanazawa Cup International Karate Championshi pat Nepal in the month of February 2019.
  • Rutika Vyas won Gold Medal (Kata) in the 11th Kanazawa Cup International Karate Championship at Nepal in the month of February 2019.

Participated and was Quarter Finalist in the Barcelona Spain Badminton Masters Cup held at Barcelona in the month of February 2019. Participated in the Masters International Cup, held at Orleans( Paris) from 19 to 24 March 2019. Going to participate in the Super Series India Open Badminton Tournament was held at Delhi from 26 to 31 March 2019. Going to participate in the Super Series Inter National Level Open Badminton Tournament to be held at Singapore from 9 to 14 April 2019.

III  Secured 2nd Place, and Ms. Natasha Nitnaware of B.Sc. III secured 3rd Place in the inter class Tournament.
  • On 8th September 2018, Six students participated in the Intercollegiate Cross Country Race 2019 of 10 kms organized by RTMNU, Nagpur.

2017 - 2018

Annual Sports Prize Distribution ceremony was held on 26 th February, 2018. All special achievers, Coaches and Staff were felicitated for their outstanding performances at the hands of Chief Guest Dr. Ram Thakur, Sports Editor of Lokmat Samachar, Nagpur and Guest of Honour Mrs. Kumkum Agrawal. A total of almost 150 students participated in the inter-collegiate tournaments in following games; basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Badminton, Athletics, Chess, Cricket , Karate etc.

a) Ku. Mugdha Agrey won All India Senior Ranking Badminton Competition at Bareli. She has also participated in various Open International Badminton Tournament at France, Finland, Netherlands and Spain.

b) LAD Saraswati Kanya Sangh Won Silver Medal and Cash Prize of Rs.21000/- in the KhasdaarKridaMahotsav Basketball Tournament. c. Cricket Summer Club for girls was organized from 2 nd April to 31 st May 2018 in the College at Shankar Nagar campus at minimum possible fees.
